Growing Your Online Business in 2020
If you are an outline seller like myself, you want to try and grow your business consistently. To do that, Skip McGrath states, “you have to take things into your own hands. There is only one force that can make you fail and that force is you.”
He outlines a simple 9 point quick guide in his weekly blog with some tips that can help you strengthen and grow your business in the face of any adversity the market can throw at you.
-
Take Risks – There is just not was to succeed in business without taking risks and once you take the risk, stand behind it.
-
Love what you do and do what you love – If you are selling something that you just do not care about, look at doing something else and move on from that one.
-
Get help with you taxes – Find a CPA and sit down and learn some strategies to reduce your taxes. The law have changed a lot and it might be time to incorporate or form an LLC. You might need to carry over your inventories or write off items.
-
Management not just your time but your goals as well – Have a plan, make a list and set some goals and work those goals. Remember the goal must be both measurable and achievable. Time management is a must!
-
Go Multichannel if you can – If you are selling on one platform, check out others that may be similar. Different people buy on different venues for a multitude of reason: security, delivery, costs and variety are a few reasons.
-
Avoid negative influences – Everyone seems to have an opinion and unless they have walked in your shoes, pay no attention their thoughts because they can not possibly know your circumstances. Politely listen and move on!
-
Be Excruciatingly Honest -The best way to be honest is very simple – Do not lie, cheat or steal and do not associate with people who do. This may cost you money occasionally, but in the long run it will pay huge dividends.
-
Be generous with your customers – Offering a liberal return policy and a no-questions money back guarantee sounds risky and impossible but in reality it is not. Most customers are good people and want to buy from people they can always trust.
-
Work Hard – This is a must! There is no substitute for good honest hard work. Take full responsibility for your business and enjoy what you have worked for. Remember keep growing!
